Kristina Pearson
Hi, my name is Kristina Pearson and I'm a Registered Psychotherapist in Ottawa. I have a passion for working with teenagers and adults to improve the quality of their mental health and to help people lead lives they value. I view mental health as a natural part of the human experience where we encounter adverse and extraordinary situations that affect the way we move in the world. Although we face difficulties and periods of overwhelm, my aim is to help clients thrive by introducing varying perspectives, techniques and skills to better equip them in handling life’s challenges.
Credentials:
Registered Psychotherapist - College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario
Master of Arts Counselling Psychology - Yorkville University
Bachelor of Arts Honours Psychology - Carleton University
How We Can Help
My approach to therapy is person-centered whereby my clients’ needs, goals, and safety are at the forefront of treatment. I provide a respectful and nonjudgmental space where clients are free to share their thoughts, feelings, memories, and aspirations openly. I utilize a variety of therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and mindfulness-based therapies that are grounded in evidence and theory and are tailored to clients’ individual needs. The process of psychotherapy is collaborative in which clients are the experts of their own lives and my role is to help guide them through their vulnerability with grace and compassion.
